Overview: Josh Renbarger and Cassy Vires recently opened Table, fulfilling their desire for an edgier city restaurant. Describing their menu as "sporadic and schizophrenic," there isn't anything the couple is afraid to make. The restaurant's menu has quite the interesting selection of vegetarian items, from tempura-fried veggies to faux-escargot to a mac & cheese (just ask them to hold the bacon). Stay tuned as the restaurant's menu shifts to its fall seasonal menu at the end of October.

Highlights: Bearing a close resemblance to hand-pies, Table's version of empanadas ($10) are dreamy. Two soft, melt-in-your-mouth pockets are stuffed with cauliflower, hazelnuts and manchego. Though made for sharing, you may not want to -- they are that good.

Table shows its inventive side with the vegetarian "escargot" ($12). Five (novelty) snail shells are stuffed with puréed Ozark forest mushrooms and served with French bread. It definitely provides a non-veg experience to the vegetarians.

Other to-die-for dishes at include sweet corn fritters ($8) stuffed with corn and housemade ricotta, and served with maple syrup; cauliflower mole ($10) garnished with vanilla aioli and crushed almonds; and fried green beans, Meyer lemon and house pickled peppers ($8), with a dollop of shiso aioli.
