The Ten Best Food Events in St. Louis This Weekend: January 17 to 19

Friday (Jan. 17):

Greek Beer Tasting @ Vom Fass

Ionia Atlantic Imports is partnering with Vom Fass for a tasting of Greek beers. No RSVP necessary -- just stop by to learn about and taste the Mediterranean brews. From 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Alton Restaurant Week @ Alton, Illinois

For a look into dining options just across the river, check out the debut of Alton Restaurant Week starting this Friday, January 17, through Sunday, January 26. Snow Ball @ Moonrise Hotel

As a kickoff to the ninth annual Loop Ice Carnival, Moonrise Hotel hosts Snow Ball. $30 admission includes two drink tickets for cool cocktails, an hors d'oeuvres buffet, live music and some surprises in store. Tickets are available here or at the door. 7 to 11 p.m.

4 Hands Hot N Heavy @ Eclipse

This Loop Ice Carnival event is open to the public. 4 Hands Brewery will be taking over the taps at Eclipse Restaurant. Warm up with the 2012 Bona Fide Imperial Stout, 2013 Bona Fide Imperial Stout, Volume 1, Eclipse's exclusive Raspberry Milk Stout, Beyond the Bricks, and the Peanut Butter Milk Stout. Admission is free. 5 p.m.

St. Louis Beekeepers Honey and Wine Tasting @ Culinary Institute of St. Louis

Try local, regional and international honeys in addition to wines from Augusta Winery and eats from the Culinary Institute. You'll also learn about how weather and locale affect the taste of honey and wine. There will be a silent auction to raise money for the St. Louis Beekepers. Suggested donation of $10 at the door. RSVP by e-mail or on Facebook. From 6:30 to 9 p.m.

LHC Relaunch @ Local Harvest Cafe

Local Harvest Cafe, now to be known as LHC, is relaunching his weekend with its new concept, "All About the C." The new cafe will have housemade cultured eats like kefir, kimchi and sauerkraut. The C also stands for comfort food, like pulled pork, roasted chicken and "vegan" spaghetti and meatballs. There is a new juice menu as well. Come check out the new space from 4 to 8 p.m.
