BlackFinn American Grille (1147 Saint Louis Galleria; 314-726-5300) at the Galleria has permanently closed. Its website was live Monday morning, but now it's simply a message confirming the closure. All social media accounts have apparently been deleted as well.

BlackFinn, a small, higher-end chain restaurant, opened at the Galleria in March 2012. There are also locations in Houston, Austin and Jacksonville.

We gave BlackFinn a mixed review -- "Yet even within the range of bar food, BlackFinn shows signs of sagging under the strain" -- but the restaurant was popular for corporate events and larger parties.

Emails and voicemails left for BlackFinn St. Louis and catering manager Charlie Gitto were not immediately returned. We'll update if we hear more.

Never been but from what I'm reading the service was terrible and subpar food. For any restaurant to succeed they need great customer service and great food. Easy concept but not everyone gets it. Blame management for not hiring competent staff

Service was terrible. I actually left because our waitress took 20 min to get us water during happy hour and we didn't even order drinks yet. :-D the bartender just let us sit there as she held a personal conversation w another waiter. Nothing lost there'

exactly. the myth that foot traffic will substitute for marketing has closed many businesses.

No loss. The food wasn't great, service wasn't either.

went there once. hard for a mall restaurant to compete with the other great spots in town. especially in the Brentwood Clayton area. NOBODY wants to fight that traffic to eat subpar food
