Eleven65 Closed Quietly After Five Months in O'Fallon

Eleven65 (1165 Technology Drive, O'Fallon) opened in O'Fallon in September. Owned by the Sparks family, the fine-dining establishment opened a few months later than planned and had a chef switch up before the big day. It was a "modernistic interpretation of homegrown dishes and an educated service staff" and is now closed after only five months.

As reported by St. Louis Magazine, Eleven65 shut its doors two weeks ago.

Our restaurant critic Cheryl Baher was a bit confused by Eleven65 (and she wasn't the only one). There were bottles of Dom Perignon on the menus...which were on printer paper. Mother-and-son team Elizabeth and Hal Sparks didn't do much to change the 8,000-square-foot former J. Buck's decor, and that did little to support its upscale pretensions.

As George Mahe notes, Eleven65's Facebook page is defunct, but its website is still up. Calls and emails to Eleven65 were not immediately answered.

The only place interesting in St. Charles is historic main street. Want good food? Go to the Millstream. Great food and plenty of choices for drinks. Hands down the BEST French dip sandwich in MO.

Nothing wrong with hometown pride. Try the Stone Soup Cottage in Cottleville, it will blow you away.

St. Charles is changing. Cottleville is really turning into a great food destination. VB Chocolate Bar has great chemex coffees and other fun contraptions that everyone goes on and on about at sump coffee downton. they have brought Crumb Bakery & Cafe in house and it is now the most perfect thing ever. super fresh melt in your mouth pastries and amazing coffee, not to mention they are a chocolatier of such decadent amazing chocolates... and i don't even care for chocolate. from there you can walk over to Bemo's Cottleville, hit the Cottleville Wine Seller, grab some groceries at Manino's. Then you add in what is happening down on Main Street where there is a real foodie move, add the Streets of St. Charles that they are building at 5th and 70. Bar Louie St. Charles is there (totally saw Stephen Jackson there last week) and Prasino - St. Charles is sooo good (saw Jack Clark there a month ago). French town is turning into a vintage shopping haven for hip old furniture and decor and so on.... I only wish they would put a Landmark theatre over here. Sorry. I have a lot of hometown pride.

Went there for happy hour once. Incredibly overpriced appetizers and drinks, nobody there, and the bartender had to refer to his manual to mix a drink. Weird place.

Unfortunately, I have lived in St Charles County for so long that if I want great food, I am on auto pilot to St Louis. It's a 28 year habit. It's not just the food, St Louis is a destination. St Charles Co (especially O'Fallon) is a boring place, nothing there. No museums, no architectural interest, not enough ethnical mix to make it interesting. Most of all the CWE, Downtown, Clayton, and South Side restuarants are in walking areas. You can walk the blocks and window shop or eat at one place and walk somewhere else and have drinks or dessert. Why eat white bread when you can have a fresh out of the oven multigrain? JMO

I live in Ofallon, first I've heard of this venue. Perhaps a better marketing plan would've kept doors open.

Not surprising. These people had know idea what they were doing. Zero. I feel sorry for the chef who wasted his time with this family. What a joke.

I can't even imagine getting excited for a restaurant in St. Charles County. That just seems wrong.

Also recommend Asian Cafe off Bryan and in Wentzville, Tattooed Dog...great choices.

I never heard of it. Would have tried it had we even known it existed however, walking in and expecting high end only to see fast food booths would have made we a little weary. To be handed a printer paper menu would have seemed even more strange. I see nothing high end about that decor. No table cloths even. It looks like a very clean fast food joint. This area could use a real high end dining experience but I do not see it happening anytime soon.

The menu was not great. Prices were a bit inflated for the quality. I went once and knew I'd never go back. I liked the manager & chef too... I wanted to like it. It just didn't hit the mark. :(

There are some great places... Try Thai Gourmet right around the corner and Crazy Sushi was voted best underatted Sushi in St. Louis. It is on Mid Rivers. And I am SOOOOOO excited for Sugarfire Winghaven and Sugarfire Smoke House St. Charles to open.

That's a shame. We need more establishments with numbers as their name. SMH at the lack of originality.

I bet there is a line around Red Lobster as we speak.

There are maybe two good restaurants (above average) in all of St Charles county -- this one was average.

Not surprised. The food was OK but no one was ever there
