Vote for St. Louis' Most Underrated Cajun/Creole Restaurant
Gumbo at Sister Cities Cajun and BBQ. | Mabel Suen
You guys love New Orleans cuisine more than we thought. We got a lot of feedback in our latest poll, and now it's time to take it to a vote. We tallied up the restaurants mentioned the most and narrowed it down to the top four. You can also write in your own if you think we got it wrong.
Sister Cities Cajun and BBQ (4144 South Grand Boulevard; 314-875-9653)
kdjohnst: Sister Cities on South Grand. The place is about as unpretentious as a restaurant can get, while at the same time serving up food worth of a place that charges four times as much. There is not a single thing on their menu that isn't drool worthy, and the bang for your buck can't be beat. I have legitimately considered ordering their gumbo by the gallon so that I can have it for every meal. The jambalaya, etoufee, fried chicken, po boys, mussels....everything is absolutely amazing. My family drove 6 hours round trip just to go eat lunch there. If that doesn't say it all, I don't know what does.
Riverbend Restaurant & Bar (701 Utah Street; 314-664-8443)
@MattHeldermanfrom: @RiverfrontTimes without a doubt, it's Riverbend. Nobody in town gives you the #NOLA experience like @Riverbendbar
Boogaloo (7344 Manchester Road, Maplewood; 314-645-4803)
@adamhilgendorffrom: @RiverfrontTimes boogalooKitchen Sink (255 Union Boulevard; 314-454-1551)
nrb14: Kitchen Sink!
