The Best Food Events in St. Louis This Weekend: July 4 to 6

Happy Fourth of July, Gut Checkers! We know you'll be celebrating all day today, but there is fun stuff going on the entire weekend. Put on your best red, white and blue and get out there. Check out our food-related recommendations after the jump.

Friday (July 4):

Pre-Fair Breakfast at Bixby's

"Bixby's at the Missouri History Museum has got you covered if you're going down to Fair Saint Louis. We love the weekend brunch, but it's usually not offered on Fridays. But from 7 to 10 a.m. on July 4, you get get the yummy breakfast buffet at a reduced price ($17.75 for adults and $12.50 for kids). Eats include Bixby's buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy, mini waffles, omelets, fresh fruit and yogurt, pastries, maple-cured bacon and more. Plus, there's free parking if you're headed to Forest Park festivities. Reservations are required; call 314-361-7313."

Fair St. Louis @ Forest Park

Like, do we even need to say anything? The fair started Thursday night, but goes on all weekend. Check out free performances from the Band Perry, Matt Nathanson, Bonnie Raitt, Gavin DeGraw, the Fray and more. Before the fireworks start, hit up one of the many food and drink stations around the park. Friday and Saturday, from noon to 10:30 p.m.

Red, White & Brew Bash @ Llywelyn's

"The western outpost of Llywelyn's is throwing its fourth annual Red, White and Brew Bash, a VIP Fourth of July celebration. Tables of two are sold out, but gather up some friends to watch the St. Charles fireworks on the riverfront from Llywelyn's patio. Tickets will get you guaranteed seating, a barbecue buffet, drink tickets, prizes, live music and more. From 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Snag your seat here."

Kirkwood Freedom Festival @ Kirkwood Park

Kirkwood doesn't just have a fireworks display -- it has a whole 'Murica festival. Live music from Fanfare begins at 7 p.m. and fireworks are at dusk. Tropical Moose will be on hand with its refreshing snow cones, as well as food from the Kirkwood Lions, plus multiple food trucks. From 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Webster Groves Community Days @ Memorial Park

The annual neighborhood celebration features the beloved Webster Groves Lions Club charity barbecue. There's also a carnival and an Independence Day parade on Friday at 10 a.m. The carnival and midway booths run Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with live music starting at 6 p.m. with a break for fireworks at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Saturday (July 5):

Wildwood Farmers' Market @ Wildwood Town Center Plaza

"Can't make it down to Tower Grove? No problem -- Wildwood has a famers' market, too. Find fresh, local food from vendors like Cadet Creek Farms, Two Men and a Garden, Sunny Creek Farm and more. Just for S&G will also be providing live music. From 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Admission is free."

Date Night for Couples: Last Tango in Paris Dine and Dance @ Kitchen Conservatory

So you can't actually tango in Rome and dine in Paris -- this date night is the next best thing. You'll get a one-hour dance lesson from COCA, followed by a French 75 champagne cocktail. Then you and your partner will cook up romaine-prosciutto salad with vinaigrette, apple and goat cheese crostini, grilled filet mignon served with white truffle oil and duchess potatoes, plus strawberry tart with pastry cream. We're drooling already. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $170 per couple; register here.

Sunday (July 6):

Red, White and Blue Day Bash @ Harry's

Harry's is bringing back its "Ultimate Day Party" to round out the holiday weekend. It's hosted by Phil Assets and the 2 Live Crew. Enjoy complimentary Ciroc and Patron margaritas from 4 to 6 p.m. From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. RSVP here.
