Along with several others this week, Wild Horse Grill (101 Chesterfield Towne Centre, Chesterfield) has closed. The Chesterfield Valley restaurant underwent a menu revamp last summer, but co-owner Tony Valenta told us that even after more than a decade, many people weren't aware of Wild Horse's existence.
Wild Horse opened in 2000 to mixed reviews -- we had a good meal and a bad one -- and was eventually taken over by one of the four founders, Jim Valenta, and his son Tony. Valenta brought in Ray Carpenter of Prime 1000 as his new executive chef last fall.
There has been no official announcement, and when we contacted the Valentas, they said they weren't ready to talk about it just yet. We'll update when we speak to them.
