Local Motion, Tuesday 9/19

Categories: Music

Cicero's (6691 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-862-0009) is the place to be tonight, when two of the town's brightest indie-rock hopes team up for some Tuesday awesomeness.

Brien Seyle from Rats and People (which by all accounts smoked at the Music Showcase last weekend) reports that his troupe has "a split seven-inch with the Aquatic Record due to be released" sometime in the future -- which can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned: R n P's tunes on their MySpace page deserve to be heard in high fidelity.

And Gentleman Auction House -- who we'll feature in our October 5 issue to correspond with their CD release show, save the date! -- have started earning some serious buzz by opening for national acts (Decibully, Headlights) and concocting some jubilant piano-sprinkled tunes in the vein of Broken Social Scene and Arcade Fire.

The all-ages show starts at 9 p.m., and tickets are $5 (those under 21 need to tack on $3 more at the door). -Annie Zaleski
