Nelly Boycott: The Saga of Nelly vs. Huey Continues in front of Vintage Vinyl...

Categories: Music

As we posted about last week, young rap upstart Huey and scene stalwart Nelly are embroiled in a war of words involving the former's alleged refusal to appear on the latter's debut CD, The Notebook. Huey's dis track is "Down, Down Baby," while Nelly's retaliation is "Cut It Out." (Hear Nelly's song here.)

One can follow the progression of this beef thanks to DJ Bishop of the Hitmenn DJs and his MySpace blog, where he calls himself the founder of the "New St. Louis." As this post says:

With St. Louis having be bad rep for not sticking together Bishop made a few phone calls & helped put the Chingy vs. Nelly beef to rest & now he's at the fore-front of a new movement he orchestrated called "THE NEW ST.LOUIS" to let the world know the Lou is stronger than ever before.

This culminated in a rally outside of Vintage Vinyl this past week, where the "New St. Louis" protested and rallied for its cause. Jim Utz of VV passed on several YouTube links:

The original call-out, asking people to bring their Nelly CDs, Apple Bottom jeans, etc.:
