Robyn Hitchcock and Meat Puppets Hit St. Louis

Two great shows, just announced at Blueberry Hill's Duck Room. First up are desert-psych rockers Meat Puppets, reunited and now recording for the Kansas City label Anodyne. They'll be in town Saturday, November 3. Here's a video of the band powering through "Lake of Fire" from 1999:

Next up is something I'm also completely stoked about: Eccentric psych-power-popper Robyn Hitchcock will be here Wednesday, November 7. Opening is Harvey Danger vocalist Sean Nelson -- who I talked to for my So Many Dynamos piece. Nelson's been playing with Hitchcock off and on this year; no word yet if the Venus 3 -- Hitchcock's backing band, which is R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, Bill Rieflin and Scott McCaughey -- will be with him. Either way, glorious!

Here's a great old Letterman clip of Hitchcock doing "Madonna of the Wasps."
