St. Louis Weekend Round-up: September 28-30

I'm out of town this weekend, kiddies, but go out for me. Here's what's going on:

Friday, September 28
*Flaming Lips, Pageant – SOLD OUT
*The Kissers, The Dubliner
*i:Scintilla/Martin Atkins DJ set, Creepy Crawl. Atkins is also holding a lecture at Vintage Vinyl at 5 p.m. Here's the scoop:

It is a topic that has never really been "taught" but if there was someone who is perfect for the challenge it would be Martin Atkins. Having done time in Public Image Limited, Killing Joke, Ministry and Pigface, Martin Atkins has played everywhere from the tiniest of clubs to stadiums and performed on just about every continent. Promoting his new book Tour:Smart, he tells you everything you need to know to help make your band's tour more successful, from better planning and routing, choosing transportation, merchandising, promotion, and more. Martin Atkins is on the road promoting the book, conducting seminars and info sessions, and providing consultations with bands to help apply the information from Tour:Smart to real life situations. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to dissect Martin's brain, and his 30 years as a touring musician... from his years with P.I.L. and Killing Joke, to teaching "The Business of Touring" at Columbia College in Chicago.

Saturday, September 29
*The Disappeared (ex-Picturebook of Saints), Bluebird
*The Conformists/Nerve Parade, Mangia
*The Hibernauts/Tomahawk Apostle/Dirty 30s/Team Tomato, 2 Cents Plain
*Lollipop Factory/Shame Club/Tight Pants Syndrome, Off Broadway

Sunday, September 30
