Washington University's a cappella group Mosaic Whispers: Rilo Kiley fans

Categories: Music

When I was in college, a cappella shows were fun, but also sorta serious. Even the breezy, lighthearted songs reeked of calculation and craft (which is perhaps why I stopped going after, oh, about age 20).

But it put a smile on my face when Christian Schaeffer sent along this YouTube video of Washington University's co-ed a cappella group Mosaic Whispers covering Rilo Kiley's "Portion for Foxes." It's sweet and fun, capturing the joy of the single in a unique way.

(Older, but still amusing for a few minutes, is the group's cover of the Darkness' "I Believe in a Thing Called Love.")
