Band of Horses in St. Louis at the Gargoyle: January 31, 2008

• Wasn't this show originally scheduled for FEB 1st. Or am I having a motherfucking acid flashback???

• What ever happened to the Galaxy?

• I think they would do really well at The Pageant. At least as well as Of Montreal. Hell, Off Broadway is bigger than The Gargoyle and more (in my opinion) appropriate venue.

• actually, i think Band of Horses is big enough to fill at least the main floor of the Pageant (which is about Mississippi Nights-sized). they've never been here before, they opened for Modest Mouse, and play the type of indie-rock that goes over super well here. judging by their tour dates, though, they're choosing to do smaller venues this leg of the tour.

• yeah, i was surprised the gargoyle got them, too. but who else in town would book them? they're not big enough for the pageant. blueberry hill, maybe? mississippi nights would have been all over this show. seems like most artists like this are just skipping stl and playing the blue note in columbia.

• Whoah, this post has been up for like a half hour & nobody's made a naked ass taser joke? Man-go, folks be trippin'.

• Seriously? That seems like WAY too small of a venue for them. And their music calls for drinking, so it seems to be a poor fit, to boot.
