St. Louis 2008 shows: Dan Deacon, Early Day Miners, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Health

As I was perusing different venue Web sites this afternoon for the impending pre-Christmas listing bonanza, I noticed a few venues add some pretty cool shows for next year.

The Billiken Club -- which has positioned itself as the premiere place to see marquee indie rock acts, thanks to some stellar booking -- announced a few 2008 shows.

January 25: So Many Dynamos
February 18: Experimental electro-noise act Health/synthpoppers Shooting Spires
March 8: Headlights (CD release show)/Evangelicals
April 12: Dan Deacon (rescheduling, apparently, the show he had to cancel in the fall)

The Bluebird
January 26: Springfield's own Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin (whose opening set for Peter, Bjorn and John impressed), along with Jumbling Towers and Say Panther

February 8: Early Day Miners, with Victoria and Gentleman Auction House. Bands on Secretly Canadian rarely come here -- even though the label is based in Bloomington, Indiana -- so this is a treat.

The Pageant will be announcing a Drive-By Truckers show for February 29 tomorrow, confirming what publicists and tour routing sites have already told us.

And hip-hop wunderkind Chris Brown and Bow Wow (with special guest Soulja Boy, of "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" fame) will be at the Scottrade Center on January 31.
