Girls Rock! at the Webster Film Series

Categories: News

I'm hoping to go see this next week sometime: The Webster University Film Series is presenting the film Girls Rock! Paul Friswold wrote about it here quite eloquently. And says Webster:

Girls Rock! follows the uplifting journey of four 8-18-year-olds as they are transformed by the liberating powers of music at the Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls. Given the opportunity to bash the drums, wail like banshees and take up space, and under the expert tutelage of indie rockers like Carrie Brownstein (Sleater Kinney) and Beth Ditto (The Gossip), the girls jettison gender stereotypes like old hats, on their way to a joyous final concert that will change their lives forever. Rated PG by the MPAA, the film is suitable for all ages – especially girls who want to rock.

The movie plays this weekend, April 18 to 20, and on April 22, & 24 at 8 p.m. at the Moore Auditorium on Webster's campus (470 East Lockwood, Webster Groves).
