Len, "Steal My Sunshine" Video

• I'm glad this nice, pleasant ode-to-sunniness post has attracted positive comments that match its initial mood, with nary a jerky rebuttal about how the phrase "Steal My Sunshine" actually dates back to some ancient musical!

• You can have my Canadia-bashing when you pry it out of my cold dead hands. I am underwhelmed (if that's a word). USA!USA!USA!

• I went ahead and downloaded this song. I wish there was a way to somehow remix "Steal My Sunshine" to take out the between-verse chatter. I like Canada. Matt, you forgot Plumtree, B'ehl, Wandering Lucy, Gaze and a bunch of comedians.

• yeah, well, you could also say Barenaked. Ladies. perhaps because the Canadian government gives grants for the arts, i think some of the most exciting music is coming from there. perhaps because people have the time/luxury to focus on music and not divide their energy between day jobs and art.

• Eh, buncha 60 percenters, the lot of 'em. Two words: Moxy. Fruvous. That's all ya need to know about Canadia.

• whoa -- i think canadian music has gotten BETTER since len. *the acorn -- mystical, whimsical folk-hippies that put any americans (yeasayer, etc) to shame *metric. kickass electro-girl jams *DFA 1979. digi-metal. *miracle fortress. does the beach boys better than the beach boys. *new pornographers. stars. young galaxy. need i go on?

• I think this may have been the last cool thing to come out of Canada. Think about it, before this they had Rush, Kim Mitchell, Cub, Zumpano, after this they had Arcade Fire and a bunch of lame-o backpack hip-hop. Did Len usher in an era of suck or were they just so good nothing could compare afterwards? Discuss.

• Any song that samples the drum break from "More More More (How Do Ya Like It?)" is pure gold in my book. Love that lazy flow and awesome hook.

• I love it. I actually had this CD. There some other songs on there that I enjoyed, too.

• Ah, one of the greatest one-hit wonders of the '90s. (Speaking of which, how about that peuedo-Sublime video?)
