Local News Tidbits: Tight Pants Syndrome, The Feed, Raglani, Stella Mora, Heroes of the Kingdom, Fundamental Elements

haterade.gifWhile everyone is busy sipping haterade over at the music awards nominees post, my email to the city's music scene denizens netted some information about the activities of a bunch of bands around town.

*The Feed will be playing before the Cardinals game on May 29. They'll also have a new CD out mid-summer -- perhaps even on a label, as their SXSW gigs netted some interest -- while a new song, "Stella" is up on their MySpace already. The Feed will also be playing the Pageant this Friday night with Semi-Precious Weapons, Tell-Tale Heart and others.

And look! They let me post a new song as an MP3. It was recorded with Jason McEntire at Sawhorse Studios. (Remember that name as you keep reading.) Behold:

MP3: The Feed, "Stella"

*Heroes of the Kingdom are finishing up their debut record of Zeppelin/'90s post-rock tunes at Yellow Hat Studios. Look for it soon.

*Raglani's going to be releasing a new album called Of Sirens Born on well-respected underground label Kranky in the fall.

*The Overtones are now known as the Radical Sons and have picked up a fancy-pants New York lawyer: Richard Grabel, who also has worked with Sonic Youth, Interpol and Modest Mouse, among others.

*Tight Pants Syndrome -- who have been quiet as of late -- are about to release an album called Singles in the coming months, which Brian McClelland says is "a collection of remastered versions of all 14 of TPS's recordings to date, starting with 2005's "Your Buzz is Safe With Me" and "Your Love is Hot," and ending with brand spanking new tunes like "Dumb Love" and "John's Niece is Very Pretty." The band will also be playing the International Pop Overhtrow festival in Chicago and has a new singer, Erin Hogan.

*Fundamental Elements are releasing a new album produced by native St. Louisian Stephen Lieweke (who's now based in Nashville) in May.

*Stella Mora recently tracked drums at Sawhorse Studios, the home of local producer Jason McEntire. McEntire is known for working with Ludo, Ha Ha Tonka and Flee the Seen. Check out a video of the studio set-up after the jump...

*And speaking of Ludo, they'll be on Jimmy Kimmel in May.
