St. Louis Weekend Fun: Who Went Where?

• 999 Eyes freak show on Friday night. No good photos, but it was damned blast.

• the Feed were excellent at off broadway friday night

• Man, you shoulda seen us at CBGB last Fall for Eric Hall's birthday blast. Drums-bass-keyboards-three guitars. It was a glorious mess. We put the cock in cacophony.

• the meatmen played "the dungeon" on saturday aka the red sea basement. http://youtube.com/watch?v=hk4KaiDujAw

• Theodore played all of their new long-player its entirety, and it was a wonderful, beautiful thing. Rats & People opened and premiered their video for "Sorry to Miss the Affair," directed by my homeboy Aaron Crozier.

• I saw Drive-by Truckers in Chicago, which was fun.

• The Tight Pants show at the Tap Room was a lot of fun. That's My Daughter covered "Gloria" (the Laura Branigan song, not the Them song); Bunnygrunt took an early Blondie song and knocked it out of the park (although I don't know if a 3rd guitarist is really necessary); and Tight Pants Syndrome, well, I don't think they did any covers, but they sounded alright with their own stuff.

• Sunday night free concert in Perry Park (near Delmar & Kingshighway), Hamiett Bluett conducting & directing the Youth Improvisation Orchestra, 25 or so high school kids playing Bluett's compositions while he pushes them along, even walking into the orchestra from time to time to encourage specific musicians to do specific things. It was quite astounding.
