Feisty Bulldog -- Closing.

• Nice of them to let us know. I work around there and bought gift cards and now it looks like they're going to go to waste. Seems like a shady way of getting the heck out of dodge for a local bar that prides themselves on being "hated for who [they] are". Looks like they don't need to be concerned with being "liked for who [they're] not.

• Although the closing of The Feisty Bulldog appears to be imminent, Punk Beer Rodeo is still alive and kicking. Having severed ties with Feisty several months ago, Punk Beer Rodeo is bringing live music (and t-shirts) to several other venues in St. Louis.

• Mississippi Nights would be crazy to re-open on the Landing. It's a dead zone. The bottom line is that there's a lot fewer touring acts that fit that middle capacity between 500-800 anymore. Bands tend to go straight from small-cap clubs to one-floor Pageant size shows. This makes it hard to keep a place that size open because you don't get enough shows to pay for the overhead. That was a big factor in the Galaxy closing, for example. Also, Blueberry Hill is nowhere near as large as the Nights. (our capacity at Bluebird is actually higher). You're also overlooking Pop's and Fubar, which can both hold mid-size acts.

• Why doesn't Mississippi Nights regroup and open up shop there? I know there's at least some logic for it based on how many shows it seems skip us now that I think man, that'd have been at Mississippi Nights for sure. Bluebird being too small. Pageant too big for some shows. Blueberry Hill too disinterested it seems at times. This all would make too much sense though, plus Lumiere would probably tear down that block too so there'd be no competition with their Go-Go's shows that nobody will go to.

• What's going to happen to all of those t-shirts? It's too bad, really, but successfully bringing local music clubs back to the Landing just seems to be impossible at the moment. Better bet: Bringing back Rum Jungle (RUM JUNGLE!) and their glorious radio spots.
