Lil Wayne at the Chaifetz Arena, Saturday, August 30

Wow, last-minute show, but it's a big one: Lil Wayne, of Tha Carter III fame, will be playing at the Chaifetz Arena on Saturday, August 30. According to the press release I just got, tickets are $40, $45, $55, $75, $110, and $200, and go on sale on Saturday, August 16, at 11 a.m. at MetroTix.com, the Chaifetz Arena Box Office, MetroTix outlets at select Schnucks and Macy stores and charge by phone at 314-534-1111.

Um the concert was OFF THE CHAIN!!!!! all i gotta say.
I realize no one is looking at this anymore, but just wanted to pop in and say told ya so. 4 days before the concert and there are still 8th row seats available on the floor, and you can buy cheap seats for you and several hundred of your closest friends. I love Weezy, but 2 weeks is not enough time to sell out a venue like Chaifetz.

I live in St. Louis ! And needless to say I'm going to be at the concert ! And so is every other teenager in St. Louis ! So my guess is it will sell out ! Only because the girls want to see Lil Wayne ! And us guys want to see the girls !
Guarenteed tickets are half gone within the first week. I'm not sure how old you are or if you know exactly how popular he is, but these tickets are gonna be selling FAST.
I'm betting my own money that it won't. 10,000 seats, 2 weeks, $40-$60 a pop...not even the greatest rapper alive can pull it off.

Doesn't matter either way. With the on-sale happening just 2 weeks before the show, they'll be lucky to have that place halfway full.
i fail to see how a neutral post announcing a show coming to town that a lot of people will care about -- from probably the biggest hip-hop artist of the year -- makes us hypocrites. last time i checked, that makes us thorough. and does anyone really want to read my screed against misogyny in hip-hop? i figured no, but if that's not the case, say the word.

Ok..so Chapters is unacceptable and the RFT does not support them, but yet they support lil Wayne??? the author of such classic hits as: \'hoes\', \'alphabet bitches\', \'pussy monster\' and seriously people do a search for his lyrics and they are way worse than anything on the chapters CD. Misogyny at it\'s finest, but i guess it is ok because he is from the ghetto and famous. Just looking for some consistency here.
