Land of Talk -- who are opening for Broken Social Scene at the Gargoyle on October 18 -- worked with Bon Iver's Justin Vernon on its upcoming full-length, Some Are Lakes. Accordingly, the CD (which I've heard in full) is quite a bit more nuanced and intimate than the band's debut EP. Think more the atmospherics of Denali and Cat Power, and less Pixies snarl.
