• When I was just a wee-tyke in 1978 (going 2 give you the condenced story) my Step Bro was the greatest guy in my whole planet surfer, happy golucky, looks and deminer that made the chick flock aroud along with the funnies that belowed; interduced me to the B52's and I really didn't get the bit from this quorkey band took some months to grow on me. The Retro look out of harmony wached sound scapes of instermentations and battleing male/feml. vocials...but that is just it completely differant from what my pubesant ears could ingulf but 6 years later they were being listened to My school dances covered them and my New Wave Club's I would frequant were playing them. They came up in a big way with a slow progressive flow but There is a song from this unique artist for everyone and it will lift you out of a funk if your in one. Gergia gave birth but I get to ingest the humor and quarky intrest of each recording they Turn Out and invade us with. • gotta be a tie between Neutral Milk Hotel and Matthew Sweet. Both have produced what I think of as essential indie rock albums - 100% Fun and In The Aeroplane Over The Sea - that are influential on a level we haven't even begun to understand yet.

• OK Seriously these guys (Dead Confederate) are great! In this country of mostly crappy, sometimes alright, rarely great music, they are a welcome addition to my 'Favorite Bands' list. I'm really excited for them to be on Conan in a few weeks! I think it's going to be big for them and they deserve it.

• I'm loving Dead Confederate, I'm broke, and I really want to go to Monday nights show! I heard about these guys from a glowing review on the My Morning Jacket forum titled "DEAD CONFEDERATE...Um Holy Shit!", and I've been listening to them since(June'08). I live an 1 1/2 hours away in a shithole of a town and gas prices are killing my concert season so anything for free would make my year! Come on, you know you wanna pick me :) P.S. I'm really hoping they'll play Memorial Day Night. P.S.S. I'm a little cute if that helps... not that I'm offering anything but my undying gratitude... and blow jobs :O just kidding. My husbands gonna kill me.

• Does Matthew Sweet count? Because his singles remind me of my pizza delivery days, which were long enough ago that they seem relatively pleasant and carefree.
