Tonight! Tussle at the Bluebird

Categories: MP3 Enhanced

San Francisco's Tussle roll into the Bluebird tonight, along with locals Macro Meltdown and Cold Bear Scout, and fellow Californians Pleaseeasaur. Here's how Shae Moseley described Tussle in this week's paper:

Electronic manipulators Tussle combine heavy square waves of vintage synthesizer buzz with raw, kitchen-cupboard percussion, while its hypnotic basslines are propelled forward by spastic live drums. This is imperfect dance music made by humans for humans; the San Francisco band's loose, unconscious vibe envokes electronic music's synergy of emotion and movement, but in a more spontaneous way. Tussle's latest studio album, Cream Cuts, expands on the psychedelic experimentation of 2006's Telescope Mind. Passages of noise exploration and spacey mood pieces add depth, breaking the monotony of pulsing rhythms with substantive, rolling landscapes — without straying from the dance floor for too long.

MP3: Tussle, "Night of the Hunter"
