So, the Wooden Kites are gearing up to release a seven-inch with Quief Quota. (Fittingly, both bands are playing a show at CBGB next Tuesday, September 9, with Future Kings of Nowhere.) But the catch is, the band doesn't have a name for the song yet! And that's where YOU come in.

*Go listen to the track on the band's Myspace.

*Read the lyrics (which are after the jump)

*Send two potential titles to woodenkites@gmail.com

According to head 'Kite Brian Potts, "We will choose the title we like best. That will then be the title of this song until the day it dies a terribly slow and agonizing death. We haven’t exactly decided what the winner gets, as of yet. But, a free copy of the 7 inch is obvious, we’ll also hook you up with a copy of our full length The Orchard if you don’t already have it, a copy of the Bert Dax Christmas Comp 2007, and a grab bag of small, but personalized gifts from us here in wooden kites will be included."

Happy naming.

“Watch the south winds blow the girls from the yard,
drive the stake into the wall.
Further pushing towards a future in this world,
Count the dead dear, on the road.
Feel my fingers stretch and yawn and dissolve,
Robots crashing at our feet.
Dragons soaring through the bedroom at night,
Needles growing in the grass.

And all the yarn that you weave,
It is twisting through,
The space that we need.
The way we wash our hands to clean the dirt,
The sweater you bought is too small for the earth.

Babies talking through chords on the moon,
Rich men eating elephants.
country witches bending hearts with the sound,
Brian Wilson in my dreams.

And all the time that you waste,
Thinking of a song,
Forced without taste.
Your eyes are sinking through gardens of pearls,
The hornets are shrinking with every swirl.

So wait for the cars in the dark when there calling your name,
Take a break and go think outside in the green rain,
With my blood covered books I will meet your demands,
Look around see the weeds growing out from the past.”
