The cheerfully gaudy Christmas decorations are up in the Loop, which means it's high time to announce this year's edition of A Very Bert Dax Christmas. Volume seven features tunes from the Trip Daddys, the Humanoids, Quief Quota, Left Arm (covering "Last Christmas"!), Blondiegrunt, the Ottomen, Midtown Thieves and more! As always, Matt Harnish (the Bert Dax curator) is throwing several parties to celebrate the album. This year, he's feeling ambitious, because there are four Bert Dax holiday shows happening. To wit:

Friday, December 19 @ Lemmons: Tone Rodent, Blind Eyes, Lemay Odyssey. 9 p.m. $5
Saturday, December 20 @ the Way Out Club: Mid Town Thieves, Left Arm, Ottomen. 9 p.m. $7.
Sunday, December 21 @ Off Broadway: Trip Daddys, Humanoids, Blondiegrunt. 8 p.m. $7 21+, $9 under 21.
