Tonight: The Ninnies Interview on KDHX's Scene of the Crime

Categories: MP3 Enhanced, News

KDHX's blog reports that tonight's Scene of the Crime will feature an interview with a band called the Ninnies. "Who's that?" you might ask. Well, the Ninnies was a short-lived Chicago power-pop/new-wave band that recorded one seven-inch ("Spaz Attack" b/w "The Rejects") in the early '80s. However, the act is resurrecting itself and plans to release a CD compilation in February called The Ninnies, Why Not?, featuring thirteen originals and a cover of Eddie Cochran's "C'mon Everybody." The band plans to donate part of the proceeds from Not? to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

After bassist John Azzato (a.k.a. JohnnyA, who now lives in O'Fallon, Missouri) moved to Dallas, the band went on what he terms a "temporary long-term hiatus." In fact, Azzato says that the Ninnies have no current plans to play live because they want "the public to have a sense of curiosity about us and our music. Instead, we will market the CD online and perform studio work until we become more recognized."

Tune in tonight at 10 p.m. to hear the interview.
