Tonight! John Henry and the Engine Video Release Show + One Lone Car, Off Broadway

Categories: News
John Henry and the Engine are celebrating the release of a video for its song "Cut Your Anchor Free" with a show tonight at Off Broadway. The song sounds like a slow-dance tune from a '50s prom, a song buoyed by Henry's cut-to-the-quick vocal pleading and bar-room organ. Also on the bill are One Lone Car, an act I've always had my eye on -- and liked. The band has posted some solid new tunes on MySpace, and they carry on the jangle-pop/harmony-laden tradition of the Gin Blossoms (a frequent OLC tourmate) and Nada Surf. Go listen to "Twenty-Three," if you dig seamlessly crafted power-pop.

Below find a video introducing the Henry/Engine video; I'm told that "Anchor" wasn't quite ready yet to be posted online, but when it is, I'll post it.
