Record Store Day is Saturday, April 18: Vintage Vinyl and Euclid Records Participating

Categories: News

2008's version of Record Store Day -- an entire day devoted to the glory of, uh, the record store -- was such a booming success, people are celebrating again this year on Saturday, April 18. And like last year, Euclid Records and Vintage Vinyl are participating in the festivities. Details are still being worked out at both places, but here's what we know:

Euclid Records

*an outdoor stage featuring performances from Bottle Rockets (7 p.m.), Jason Ringenberg (6 p.m.), Troubadour Dali, Grace Basement, Bent, Farshid Etniko and the Trip Daddys

*exclusive vinyl releases from Loney Dear/Andrew Bird, Camera Obscura, Silversun Pickups, My Morning Jacket, Flight of the Conchords, and more (view a poster with more releases here)

*a screening of Wilco's new DVD, Ashes of American Flags, at night

*a sidewalk sale

*food and drink from Cyrano's and Highway 61 Roadhouse

Vintage Vinyl

*a similarly insane list of exclusive reissues/7" records/limited-edition releases (full list here)

*performances from Mayday Orchestra and Rum Drum Ramblers, along with the outdoor spin Beat Street with DJ Needles and DJ Alejan, G-Wiz and B-Money, who I'm told hasn't DJed in a long, long time in town

*celebrity DJs in the store (including, full disclosure, yours truly)

More info will be added as we know it!
