Today is the Fifteenth Anniversary of the Discovery of Kurt Cobain's Body

• I remember it well too. I was in 8th grade also and probably moped for damn near a month afterward. My biggest regret was not getting to see them live. They didn't come to STL on the '93 In Utero tour, only Mississippi Nights in '91 and I would've been too young at the time to go.

• i, too, remember where i was. i was living in Austin at the time, wearing flannel and hanging out with a bunch of other disaffected twentysomethings. that day, i remember someone on the street telling us, and i remember being stunned, but not surprised, at the same time. we listened to <em>In Utero</em> a lot for the next week or so. commemorating that day, a Denver band recently played a show where they played that album in its entirety. they also had a bunch of other Denver musicians play their favorite Nirvana tunes. it was downright magical. if you're interested, you can check out more <a href="http://blogs.westword.com/backbeat/2009/04/introducing_the_denver_boot.php" target=_blank>here</a>.

• at home, on spring break. 8th grade. remember hearing the news via cleveland's modern rock station, which came in fuzzy in the kitchen. i could barely hear what the announcer said. then i went and watched mtv all day and talked on the phone w/my friend bernard for hours. we were both upset.
