Blink 182 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, September 3

Categories: This Just In
This is either someone's dream line-up -- or your worst nightmare: According to reports, Blink 182's reunion tour is coming to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Thursday, September 3 (that's one day after my 30th birthday -- mark your calendars). Openers announced so far include Weezer and Fall Out Boy. [EDIT, 5/18/09, 5 P.M.: While both of those bands are confirmed openers for this tour, no St. Louis support has been confirmed.] I stand by Blink 182's last record as being fantastic -- no, really -- and dig Fall Out Boy. But if you're a Weezer fan, hands up if you're going to admit to going to this show. I'm not sure I know any old-school Pinkerton people who can still abide the band.

St. Louis is outraged with the recent findings regarding Blink-182. After the cancel of the original tour date and promise of the reschedule, how much more can a fan take? How about a band change? Thats right, Blink just announced that Weezer and Taking Back Sunday are not going to be joining them when they finally stop here. Instead, the stage spot will be filled by Fallout Boy and All-American Rejects. Disappointed? You should be. This is not the age group the original concert was marketed towards. Ticket returns have been on the rise since the news was announced. As well, Craigslist and other third party sales sites have exploded with ticket sales trying to sell their ticket to the younger female crowd. Everyone knows St. Louis to be huge fans. If we are your fan, we will support you until the end or until you pull something like this. After this show of character on Blinks part, a large number of St. Louis fans were lost and will not be back.

You're right about one thing Annie, the old school Pinkerton fans have pretty much given up on Weezer a long time ago. I knew they were "dead" back in 2005 when Beverly Hills came out...then they tried to get us back by being a little 'weird' on the Red Album but it still sucked ass.

I read on Rolling Stone's website that Fall Out Boy is opening 2/3 of the first dates and Weezer the remaining 1/3. Oh well, I'm not interesting in seeing any percent of this show.

Remember when Bad Religion opened for Blink? I think people would have been more pissed off about that.

Not sure if it is all 3 bands or not? I heard that Weezer is opening 1/4 of the dates and FOB the rest. In any event, count me OUT.
