Random Links: Beacon Takes on Blogging, Placebo's Brian Molko Talks, New Local Music Blog, Barry Mazor Interview

I'm swamped doing a story this week, so here are things written elsewhere to keep you occupied.

*The STL Beacon did a great piece on music blogs and blogging (with an interview from yours truly and RFT contributor Todd McKenzie). It's really well done, and explores the conundrum between promotion/publicity and journalism.

*Speaking of music blogs, here's a new local one I heard about a few weeks ago: 5 Score Pachyderm. Written by local music fan Travis Wood, it's a great resource for new releases, music on TV and new live performances out around the web.

*KDHX DJ (and former RFT freelancer) Steve Pick talks to ex-No Depression senior editor Barry Mazor, who recently penned a new book, Meeting Jimmie Rodgers: How America's Original Roots Music Hero Changed the Pop Sounds of a Century.

*My pal Jason interviewed Brian Molko of Placebo, whose new album, Battle for the Sun, is out now.
