St. Louis rapper Tega, of the group Da Camp, died last week from injuries suffered in a May 16 shooting in Wellston, reports the Post-Dispatch.

The 25 year-old (given name Ortega Devon Henderson), died on Wednesday May 27 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Da Camp is best known for their affiliations with Nelly's crew the St. Lunatics and have been featured on tracks with Murphy Lee, including Murph's single "Donkey N Da Back."

Da Camp had released several mixtapes and had plans for a full-length, debut album.

Tega had a criminal record that included two drug charges, felony tampering with a motor vehicle, and felony unlawful use of a weapon.

The P-D quotes Blu Bolden from Nelly and the St. Lunatics record label Derrty Entertainment as saying, "He was an aspiring rapper, a really talented guy. He was trying to do his artistry and get out of the streets."
