I just got off the phone with a spokesman for Major League Baseball, and he clarified that Elvis Costello is not opening for Sheryl Crow next Saturday, July 11, nor is he doing an entirely separate set of his own material. He'll come out during the show and join her for some songs. In other words, he'll be a special guest. The show, which takes place under the Arch, is still starting at 8 p.m.
There's a stage built at the top of the staircase, so the "steps as a ampitheater" concept isn't what they're doing.
This arrangement probably allows for a "VIP" section to be set up on the grounds, with the "unwashed" relegated to the back.
does anyone know if the Crow/Costello concert "under the arch" is actually under the arch - or will it be on the riverfront where the Counting Crows played on July 3? - in other words - can you sit on the arch steps for the Crow concert or will it actually be on the Arch grounds?
elvis singing the kid rock part on "picture" would be full of win. not gonna lie.
So he's singing the Kid Rock part on "Picture"?
Considering I was convinced the special guest would be Grethen Wilson, I can live with this.
Well.....at least we still got Sonic Youth, right?
