Interesting email crossed my desk this morning: Farm Aid, the producers of a long-running benefit concert for farmers, "will unveil exciting plans for Missouri" this Thursday morning. It's not a stretch to think that perhaps St. Louis will be the city chosen to host the concert this year. In fact, InsideSTL, who follows the Farm Aid Twitter, collected these tweet-hints in a piece that makes a compelling argument for the cause. Now we can start guessing who's going to play this year's concert; this list of performers from past shows is a good start for potential players. Hmm, Wilco played the benefit in 2005 -- and it certainly hasn't announced an area show yet...hmm...
[Edit, 1:22 p.m. A quick check of Dave Matthews Band's schedule reveals that it's in Chicago on 9/26 and in Little Rock, Arkansas on on 9/29. Who's opening? Willie Nelson and the Family. Both of these acts are perennial Farm Aid performers. And so I'm betting the event's here on 9/27, which is a Sunday -- either at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater or Busch Stadium. The Cardinals are away that weekend.]
Wilco at Farm Aid would be good...Bottle Rockets even better!
Well, from their clues the only other places it could be are st. louis, milwaukee or san jose, california. I guess the location of the announcement means one of those locations is more likely than the others...
take a look at my addendum... i think it's a pretty good guess.

Judging by his follow-up comment, looks Like KC Johnson knows...somebody...make 'im talk!
