Top Sellers at Area Record Stores: Week of June 29-July 5

• Poor Michael Jackson :(. You surely will be not forgotten forever. A real king of pop.

• So is there a sales distinction between the single-disc and two-disc versions of the new Dinosaur Jr album, too? Or did any stores even bother ordering the single-disc version? Or is it even really available? OR DOES IT EVEN REALLY EXIST!?

• Hey, Matt, we at Euclid sold well over 100 Michael Jackson used LPs, but they don't count in our best seller lists. We sold out of all our MJ CDs, but didn't have enough in stock for any of them to make the list either. Our customers showed plenty of love for Mr. Jackson, but obviously, you guys were positioned to get the most of it. That tribute y'all did looks like it was just about perfect.

• Oops! That should of course read "Jackin' With J-A-cko" not J-O-cko. My bad.

• A)it should be noted that if one were to combine the sales totals of both versions of Thriller at Vinnie Vinie, they crushed the Wilco sales, but they are indeed two distinct things, so we felt the need to, in the words of the Offspring, keep 'em separated. B)really, Euclid? Not ONE Michael Jackson title in your top sellers? You guys heard about that, right? The biggest celebrity death of the decade? Some of the biggest selling albums ever? Memorials? Anyone, anyone? Hopefully, at the very least, Apop is doing a deluxe collectors edition of the Strangulated Beatoffs "Jackin' With Jocko" 45 they released. Which is awesome, by the way.
