Bands: St. Louis Showcase Is Looking for Your MP3s!

Singer-songwriter Sheila Shahpari (say that five times fast) wrote in to tell us about a charity event she's helping organize: The St. Louis Showcase, which takes place next Friday, August 21, at Mad Art Gallery. The event will benefit LifeFeed, Jazz St. Louis, and Play It Forward -- and to help add local flavor, Shahpari says they're looking for local band MP3s for the event. Those interested in participating can email them to showcase2009@stl-showcase.org. Performers at the event include Shahpari, Thom Donovan and the Northwoods. As an added bonus, A-B is donating beer and silent auction items include tickets to the Sheldon and St. Louis symphony members willing to donate lessons. The event runs from 8 p.m. to midnight.
