U2 3D Showing This Weekend at the Tivoli

Categories: News
U2 3D, billed as the "first live-action 3D concert movie," is playing as part of the Tivoli's midnight movie series this weekend on Friday and Saturday night. I saw this last year when it was at the iMax, and it was seriously impressive. Here's the trailer for the flick. U2's current world tour isn't stopping in St. Louis -- the closest date is Chicago in September -- and I'm conflicted about it. On the one hand -- um, it's U2. And the stage setup is, as expected, completely innovative and elaborate. But on the other, video from this current tour is a bit scary. Specifically, Bono's voice sounds terrible -- ragged, unable to hit high notes and generally wobbly. Check out this version of "The Unforgettable Fire" from Barcelona below; you'll see what I mean.
