Kudos to ALIVE's Sheryl Crow Cover

Categories: News
Happened to read ALIVE magazine's cover story on Sheryl Crow last weekend, and I wanted to give kudos to writer Kelly Hamilton, who did a great job. The one-page article addresses motherhood, Crow's fight against cancer and charity work, as well as her Missouri/St. Louis roots (including the tidbit that after her first record, she moved back to the Central West End and had a band full of St. Louis musicians). The magazine's cover photo -- which features Crow with a bitching guitar -- was also refreshing; it's rare to find a story or photo of a female musician and not have her looks or beauty highlighted above (and in place of) her musical talent. But ALIVE's piece was well-written, interesting and focused on Crow's merits as a person. Kudos!
