The A.V. Club's Year in Band Names Recognizes Two St. Louis Acts
Every year, I look forward to the A.V. Club's "Year in Band Names" feature, which spotlights the best, worst and funniest in music monikers. The 2009 version recognizes two St. Louis bands for their clever names: Superfun Yeah Yeah Rocketship (for being "Long") and Dude Nukem (under "Proper Names"). The latter's name is rendered "Dude Nuke'em" in the piece, but we know how it's really spelled -- after all, it won 2008's Best Band Name award. The site's two Genius band names this year?
