The upstart post-hardcore act Everything Went Black will release its new EP, Altars & Arsonists, on the North Carolina label Hands Up, which is run by Jonathan Raine and Danny Trudell. (Trudell, a.k.a. Danny Sober, also owns Seventh Dagger, a popular straight-edge hardcore label.) Arsonists will only be available on vinyl and digitally when it's released in March.

The follow-up to EWB's self-released demo/EP, Pathogens (snag that here), the EP was recorded in vocalist Brandon Hoffmann's living room with Gabe Usary (drummer, the Disappeared) and mastered by Alan Douches (Converge, Mastodon, Lifetime). Coliseum frontman Ryan Patterson, who runs a design firm in Louisville, did the artwork and layout.

EWB's next local show is January 31 at Fubar with the Disappeared; the two bands are also touring out of town together a fair amount. It's also opening for Skeletonwitch and Iron Age at Fubar in February. And in between all that? EWB is also working on a full-length record, which should see the light of day later this year.
