In late January, the Contemporary Art Museum opened an exhibit of work by Stephen Prina. Titled Modern Movie Pop, the collection "takes cues from his musical work, positing that the past and present are indistinguishable via a series of monochrome paintings on pull-down window blinds," says RFT freelancer Mark Fischer. Prina's musical work includes stints with legendary psych-noise band the Red Krayola and Chicago post-rockers Gastr del Sol.

On Thursday, March 18, Prina will be in town presenting the world premiere of his latest musical score, in a show titled Concerto for Modern, Movie, and Pop Music. A press release from CAM says the "concert stars distinguished musicians from St. Louis and features the artist on guitar and vocals." The show is free, but seating is limited.
