Actor Steve Martin Bringing His Banjo Tour to St. Louis

Categories: This Just In

After Steve Martin co-hosts the Academy Awards this Sunday night with Alec Baldwin, he'll regroup for a few weeks -- and then head out on tour playing the banjo. Yup, the accomplished actor has been an accomplished musician for years now: In fact, his 2009 album, The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo, won a "Best Bluegrass Album" Grammy this year and spent thirty weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Album charts. Did I mention that Martin wrote or arranged and performed all of the songs on the album -- and that it has guest appearances from Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Earl Scruggs, among others? Anyway, Martin's tour will bring him to the Roberts Orpheum Theater on April 23. Tickets will be available from local PBS affiliate KETC until the Ticketmaster on-sale on March 20. He'll be joined on tour by the Steep Canyon Rangers. Video proof both new -- and old -- of Martin's talents below.
