• i love gism, and i love void more than i could possibly say, even more than minor threat (not as much as koro though), i love hardcore punk in general so and this pisses me off as much as it does the rest of you (at least if you're reasonable). but there is some truth in the statement that punks are hipsters. i've essentially come to define a hipster as someone who essentially reshapes him/herself to perpetuate to some group of people that he/she is the coolest fucking person in the world. i've hung around punks for 4 years now, and at least 3 in 4 of the people i've come across completely fit that definition. you probably do too, if you're just commenting to put out the same old shit about being at war with society and everything; dissidents are a part of society too. i think that this sort of thing aught to make it clear that society doesn't care about you, that now everyone essentially views punks and everyone else who was once considered counterculture as just another curiosity. and you know, the other 1 in 4 punks around here don't even care. you already know what's punk and what isn't, it's not really the kind of thing that you can intelligently explain or argue for or against, so why are you worrying about it? you know it, you like it, people around you like it, other people don't and they don't care about you, just get drunk/get high/skate/make noise/whatever you do.
