New (Local) Tunes Thursday: Tilts Rocks Your Face, while Fallout Finds His Groove
Although its show this past week was billed as an EP release, Tilts -- the new group featuring members of Riddle of Steel and Shame Club -- released its debut EP, Cassingle, late last year. Member Andy White passed on a mix of one of its songs done by Ian Whalen (Alabama Thunderpussy) -- and it's mighty stoner-riffic.

Which brings us to Larry "Fallout" Morris, the emcee of U. City hip-hop group Illphonics.
Although the troupe seems to be gearing up to create new music, Fallout is releasing a solo record of his own called ElektroMagnets Vol.2. A track from it, "C'Mon," leaked the other day. With production by Black Lion Beats and a featured spot from C. Jay Conrod, the tune screams summer, thanks to its fun hip-hop groove, falsetto vocals and vintage-soul flair.
