Hear a New Sleepy Kitty Song, Catch Them Tonight with Imperial China at Cicero's

Tonight at Cicero's, Sleepy Kitty will be hosting an out-of-town pal. Imperial China hails from Washington, DC -- and carries on that city's grand tradition of spiky, rhythmically complex post-punk. (To me, they resemble Public Image Limited's early stuff.) As for Sleepy Kitty, the duo of Evan Sult and Paige Brubeck sent over a CD single called What I Learned This Summer. (Calling it a single is generous: The release has five tracks!) The song below recalls Rilo Kiley's earliest work, although live -- and on other tracks on its MySpace -- the group's music is a girl-group-inspired spooky daydream. The show also features Univox, and starts at 8:30 p.m. $7 for those over 21, $10 for anyone under.
