• Tone Rodent have prepared a special performance for this years showcase! Will they have extra special guest performers? Will they even be there? Will Timmy finally get rescued from the well? Show up at the Dubliner at 10:30 to find out what exactly happens... You have been warned!

• @Jeff: Yeah, because the Loop never has many people on an early June Sunday. Especially if the weather is nice. Maybe all the punk bands and metal bands who didn't meet the approval of the business owners should wildcat a showcase at a more agreeable location.

• My understanding is that the RFT Showcase on the Loop was always on a Sunday because the businesses didn't want it to interfere with their already-robust Saturday business. So yeah, I guess all businesses have an interest in not upsetting their customer base.

• I guess it's the munnys, hunnys, but...weirdness. When has all of Delmar ever been (genuinely, not just annoyance-factor) unaccommodating, especially as the cultural line of demarcation, folks a'bit north of it and folks a'bit south of it all come together and make a big sloppy jammed-up mess? It's always good to see some excitement shift to a downtown flavor, but...weird. Just changed travel plans now.

• Wait a minute, there's money being made from this event? It's not just our grassroots locally-produced alternative weekly's way of supporting the hard working artists in this town, but actually a way to profit significantly from myriad sponsors, advertisers, and admission costs; all the while offering the actual commodity nothing but the privilege of playing at venues that only hesitantly tolerate them? These motherfuckers is genius!

• I wasn't gonna weigh in on the whole moving it to Washington Ave thing, cuz I was sure that there was tons of money thrown at you & who can blame you for taking it, but if the venues didn't want the bands to disrupt their regular plans for that day, why did they bother getting involved?

• Confused, some of the "experimental" nominees are playing (myself and Syna So Pro are both playing at the hookah spot, but only before the belly-dancer goes on at 9:00; come thank them for being so accommodating), and I know some others were invited, but had conflicts with the date. I wouldn't be surprised if many of them were asked and simply had issue with playing on Washington in a Disco or Sports Bar and opted out.

• There are at least 2 nominated Punk Bands playing in the showcase - Humanoids and The Disappeared. We were not able to accommodate everyone this year. Partly because of the venues' requests (not just with bands - but with time restraints of their own events or based on the residents that live above the venues). We tried to have at least two bands from every category play.....

• Most of the hardcore/punk/experimental bands aren't included. Pointless to nominate bands if there's no interest in booking them for the Showcase's performances.
