Usually, there's not much to entertain downtown during the work day, not even buskers serenading the city streets. But for the remainder of June and all of the July, downtown denizens can head to the Old Post Office Plaza (between 8th and 9th on Locust) on their lunch hours for the St. Louis Public Library's third annual Not So Quiet! concert series. The free concerts take place from noon to 1 p.m. and are open to the public.

"You know, when people come to the library they also come for entertainment. This is just another way for us to be able to provide that," says Gerald Brooks, marketing and public relations director for the St. Louis Public Library. Brooks said the turnout has been great so far, with 100 people in attendance for the first performance.

The series continues today with the Bottoms Up Blues Band; the complete schedule is below. In case of rain (and luckily it hasn't been doing any of that lately -- oh wait) the concerts will be cancelled.
