Big Muddy Blues Festival Celebrates Its Fifteenth Year on Laclede's Landing With Moreland & Arbuckle, Eric "Guitar" Davis, More
The BIg Muddy Blues Festival will be back on Laclede's Landing for the fifteenth straight year this Labor Day weekend. Artists announced so far for the two-day event include Moreland and Arbuckle, Nick Curran and the Lowlifes, Magic Slim and the Teardrops and Eric "Guitar" Davis. Local luminary Kim Massie will also spearhead a tribute to famous female soul singers by featuring the music of Etta James and Aretha Franklin. In a press release, Beale on Broadway owner Bud Jostes, who is booking this year's line-up, says:
"This music festival is steeped in tradition, and this year's bookings honor that tradition with a focus on the core blues genres -- namely Soul, R&B and Blues itself. This year's group has both popular, nationally-known Blues artists and some St. Louis musicians whose talent and careers have earned them the spotlight of a main stage set."
Big Muddy -- which runs from noon to 11 p.m. on September 4 and 5 and will have over 30 acts performing on three separate stages -- is free.
