Two Reasons To Show Up Early for Kings of Leon: The Postelles and the Stills

Kings of Leon is bringing its summer tour to St. Louis tonight at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. with two opening acts: The Postelles and the Stills. The former is based in NYC -- and the song below, "White Night" sounds like the brisk, early Strokes material. (That was a Kings of Leon comtemporary/comparison back in the day.) Albert Hammond Jr. also produced the song, so that probably didn't hurt. The Postelles is also touring with Interpol after this KOL tour.

Speaking of that band: The Stills hail from Canada. Early in its career, it was a moody, Britpop/post-punk-influenced band reminiscent of, well, Interpol. On later albums, it's expanded the palette to include more country-leaning stuff -- although as this song shows, its strength is still in crafting epic Britpop.
