Plan Ahead: Here Are Bars Open on Christmas Night in St. Louis

Once the stockings are turned inside out, you've drunk your weight in Bailey's-spiked hot cocoa, and all of this forced togetherness is finally starting to try your last nerve, well, there's only one thing left to salvage your Christmas night: heavy drinking with other STL scrooges. *Head to The Royale on Christmas night for a hot toddy. Warm your frozen behind by the outdoor fire and listen to KDHX's Thomas Crone dominate the decks. They aren't open during the day on Christmas, so you'll have to stick with your family until 8 p.m. when they open for bar service.

*Get your dance on and blast the Christmas blues away at Helen Fitzgerald's with the one and only party whirlwind stylings of Dr. Zhivegas. 9:30 p.m.

*Tickets are still available for the December 25 performance of El Monstero at The Pageant. The frivolity will last through the holy night at The Halo Bar.

*There's nothing like a punk show to put an end to your Christmas funk. Fubar's got a benefit show for Tommy Moslander, who needs a transplant. Even if you got coal in your stocking, pay it forward and shell out your $7 for a good cause and witness the punk extravaganza with Gang Control, Atomic Betty, Stinkbomb, Captain Dee And The Long Johns, Opposites Attack, and I Stabbed My Landlord.

*Hacked off about Camp Zoe and its DEA troubles? Well, then do the damn thing and hit up the Save Camp Zoe Benefit at the Roberts Orpheum Theater. The Schwag, of course, will be performing.

*And Brian Henneman of Bottle Rockets will be doing his annual Christmas night show; this year it takes place at 10 p.m. at Iron Barley. Just $10 gets you in. (Iron Barley opens at 6 p.m. with a limited menu.)
